Install it
- Open the disk image and drag GVERA into Applications.
- Open it the first time with a right-click and choose Open. The app is signed ad hoc but not notarized, so macOS quarantines a downloaded copy. If the choice is missing, use System Settings, Privacy and Security, Open Anyway.
- Or remove the quarantine flag from a terminal:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/GVERA.app - Wait about a minute on first launch. The app installs GVERA into
~/.gvera/runtimeonce, which needs Python 3.11 or newer and a network connection. Every launch after that is instant.
Allow access to the folder your projects live in when macOS asks. That is the Files and Folders prompt, because GVERA works on real project directories.
- Extract the archive and run the installer. It is user-local: no root, nothing outside your home directory.
tar xzf GVERA-*-linux.tar.gz && cd GVERA-*-linux && ./install.sh - Open GVERA from your application menu. It uses WebKitGTK 4.1 or 4.0 for a native window, and falls back to a Chromium app window when that library is absent.
- Remove it with
./uninstall.shfrom the same folder. It never touches agverayou installed another way.
Needs Python 3.11 or newer. The first launch installs GVERA into ~/.gvera/runtime.
- Run the installer. It installs for your account only, into
%LOCALAPPDATA%\GVERA, with no administrator rights for GVERA itself. It sets up a private Python, the engines, Git, FFmpeg, KiCad and Node.js, a Start menu entry andgveraon your PATH. - If SmartScreen warns you, choose More info, then Run anyway. The installer is not code-signed yet.
- Prefer a silent install? From PowerShell:
Add
.\GVERA-setup.exe /S/NOAPPSto skip the app installs and rungvera setuplater. - Uninstall from Add or remove programs. Your
~\.gverafolder and your projects are kept.
Windows 10 and 11. The app window is a Microsoft Edge app window, and Edge is already on your machine.

The same three commands work on macOS, Linux and Windows PowerShell. You need uv.
uv tool install 'gvera[cad,sim]'
gvera app --install
gvera setup
The first line installs the CLI, the desktop app and the CAD and simulation engines. The second adds GVERA to your applications. The third installs the programs the pipeline drives. A wheel for pip is listed below when a release has one.

Every release publishes its SHA-256 checksums next to the files. Save SHA256SUMS into the same folder and run:
shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS
On Windows, Get-FileHash .\file.exe -Algorithm SHA256 prints the value to compare with the checksum shown on this page.
